New York was absolutely fantastic. Fucking cold, but still fantastic. We got to see the Rockefeller Center tree and skate. (Well, I tried.) But the best part? Best part were the dinosaurs. That's right. There were dinosaurs. ( Wave your wand. )
For two dinosaur fanatics that have been so since childhood, pretty sure we were more excited than the kids there.

So, today is Thor's birthday. (Yes, he and Harry share one.) And we learned today that it's best to just give him either the ribbon from the gift box or put his old toy in the box again and act like it's new. He hasn't bothered with the new ones.

A while back, probably around the time Morag and I had moved in here together, Morag had gone oversees for a pen pal's wedding. I unfortunately couldn't get off so I was working and didn't go but lo and behold, I had to take off and use sick days. Came down with a flu. She wasn't going to be back for a while, and let's face it. Those of you who have dormed with me and shared the Ravenclaw commonroom with me for at least three years know that I'm absolutely dreadful when I get sick.
But while she was gone, Lydia came by everyday, made this superb chicken soup, or generally made food, cleaned, etc. etc. And basically put up with me. Today, she came by with food for Rory and came around here later and brought me the chicken soup again because she knows I do tend to get sick around August for some odd reason.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is.. my soon-to-be mother-in-law is fucking awesome. And I wanted to brag.

I'm really failing to see how it's my fault that my nephew is "acting out" in Hogwarts, but for some reason, my older sister seems to think so. Of course, I've just learned that it's not the best idea to tell her to relax and let him have his fun in his very last month there (literally.. he's a 7th year). I'm now on babysit-him-when-he's-out duty during my off times.
